GT in the community 2025

At Grant Thornton Aruba, we believe that creating a brighter future goes hand in hand with supporting our community. Through our GT in the Community 2025 initiatives, we continue to align our efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 15: Life on Land. This year, we are proud to highlight four impactful projects that are making a difference in Aruba.

Project 1: Invest in Me Financial Literacy Program

In partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach (Aruba), we are proud supporters of the Invest in Me Financial Literacy Program. This initiative empowers children aged 10–11 with essential financial knowledge and skills, helping them build confidence, make informed decisions, and plan for a secure future.

Through interactive learning experiences, children are introduced to the fundamentals of financial literacy, from budgeting and saving to setting goals. By investing in their potential, we are nurturing a generation that is equipped to thrive through education, opportunity, and community support.

Project 2: Inspiring Students at Colegio Arubano

As part of our ongoing commitment to education, members of our Assurance team, participated in Colegio Arubano’s Beroepenavond (Career Night).

This event provided an excellent platform to connect with students, share career insights, and encourage them to dream big about their professional futures. We are grateful for the opportunity to inspire and support Aruba’s next generation of professionals.

Project 3: Supporting Brighter Future Academy

Through our monthly sponsorship of the Adopt a Blessing Project, we are proud to support the Brighter Future Academy Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and families touched by autism, ADHD/ADD, Down syndrome, developmental delays, and other behavioral challenges.

The foundation provides strength-based, child- and family-centered therapies, including:

  • Speech Therapy (in partnership with SmallTalk Aruba)
  • Behavioral Therapy
  • Educational Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy (with support from Micky’s Foundation and a health psychologist)

By helping children enhance their skills, confidence, and daily functioning, the foundation empowers them to thrive both academically and socially.

Project 4: Restoring Mangroves with ACF

Environmental sustainability is another pillar of our community focus. Together with the Aruba Conservation Foundation (ACF), we continue to support the vital work of restoring mangrove ecosystems in Spaans Lagoon near Franse Pas.

Following ACF’s successful Resembid-funded Turning the Tide project, efforts are ongoing to dig new channels that improve water flow and quality, allowing mangroves to flourish once again. Healthy mangroves are essential for biodiversity, coastal protection, and climate resilience, and we are proud to be part of this environmental effort.

Together for a Brighter Future

Through these initiatives, GT in the Community 2025 reaffirms our belief in education, inclusivity, and sustainability. We are proud to collaborate with inspiring partners who share our mission of building a stronger, more resilient Aruba, one project at a time.
